The Brewshed® Alliance is an outreach initiative of Washington Wild started in 2012 to help people make what we call the Brewshed(R) connection: protected water makes superior downstream beer.
Brewshed® connection: As water flows downstream it collects natural minerals that provide the distinct and local flavor of beer- the water is the reason that Germany makes a pilsner and Ireland makes a stout. It’s all in the water.
Brewshed® Initiative: Started in 2012 the Brewshed® initiative is designed to help people understand the Brewshed® connection, but also to help engage alternative conservation partners, such as breweries. Breweries have joined the Brewshed® Alliance because they think it is important for their patrons to understand that connection between the quality of water and the quality of downstream beer.
Washington Wild has been helping keep Washington wild and green since 1979, in part by engaging conservation voices from across the board. Working in coalitions and partnerships we’ve worked with a wide variety of stakeholders throughout the years to help protect over 1 million acres of Wilderness. Recently, Washington Wild celebrated in December of 2014 the passage of Alpine Lakes Wilderness Additions and the designation of the Pratt and Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie Rivers as Wild & Scenic.
